Be patient with your family like God is patient with you.
Read James 1:22-25
22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. 23 Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror 24 and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. 25 But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.
Questions for Thought
1.) Is there a family member that always seems to be the one testing your patience? Pray for them.
2.) How do you think your family might be transformed if you chose to be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry?
3.) Take a few minutes to consider how God may want to pursue peace in the midst of conflict with your family. Talk about this with your family, maybe you and your family can work on this together.
God shows a patience towards us that we don't get from anywhere else. What can you do to take one step closer to living out that same patience with your family?
