Have & Have-Nots
Trust God with your future.
Read Romans 8:28-30 & 1 Peter 1:3-5
28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who[a] have been called according to his purpose. 29 For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. 30 And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.
1 Peter 1:3-5
3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, 5 who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.
Questions for Thought
This week, when you're tempted to compare yourself to someone else, I want you to remember
that what you already have is so much more valuable than what you worry you don't have.
You have a purpose that is bigger than yourself. You have a God who is willing to take you on an
adventure and use you in ways you never thought possible. You have hope. You have a future, and
in God's hands, your future is good.
Take some time to map out what your life could look like this year, next year, in five years, and
in ten years.
WHAT DO YOU WANT TO DO? Write down some goals, but don't just play it safe. Dream! Don't
just list goals you know you can achieve. List things that would only be possible with God.
WHO DO YOU WANT TO BE? At each of these benchmarks in your future, what kind of
person do you want to be? What kind of life do you want to live? And how will God's hope and mission for your life be evident?
